The Project
Expedicionários da Saúde (Health Rangers) takes volunteer physicians to remote villages in the Amazon region, so that the Indian population can receive specialized care by way of consultations and surgical procedures.

Expedicionários da Saúde is an NGO (Oscip) w/ headquarters in Campinas, SP, lead by Ricardo Affonso Ferreira, an orthopaedist.
Public benefited
Since 2004 the project ran about 14 thousand consultations and 2.500 surgeries in various Amazon areas, having also sent, in 2010 and 2011, sent teams to assist victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
Investment
In the 2011-2012 term IAAF will supply R$ 50 thousand to Expedicionarios
