The Project
Using drawing lessons, graphical resources, photography, among others teaching tools, Giro promotes deep Social Design education, a practice that qualifies and invents objects that can improve the life quality of a community. The aim is to insert the students in the work market, in a creative way, preserving their identity and building citizenship values in them.
Institution/ responsible staff
The team responsible for the course consists of a coordinator, Maria Helena Pereira da Silva, and two other educators, Fernanda Souza e Aline Lima.
Public benefited:
Thirteen youngsters of ages between 16 and 19, enrolled in the public school system, coming from low-income families.
Investment:
IAAF has supported this project since 2005, and for the 2011-2012 term will give R$ 74 thousand.
